Meditate together, in person, in Prague
Weekly sits and monthly walks in and around Prague — free, English-friendly, no experience needed.
SUNDAYS
Prague Quakers – Silent Meeting for Worship
The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) gathers in shared silence — no clergy, no sermon. Friends wait together in stillness, and anyone moved to speak may offer a few words. Held in English and Czech, usually opening with a short welcome and ending with shared food and coffee. A Zoom option is available on request.
Note: meetings are held on most Sundays — confirm the date with the clerk (Gerald Turner, turner.gerald@gmail.com) or at kvakeri.cz.

Bodhi Path
โ
Bodhi Path is an international organization of Buddhist centers founded by and under the direction of Shamar Rinpoche (also known as Shamarpa).
Wednesdays at 7:30 pm – Meditation of calm-abiding (30 minutes of meditation with short breaks, with explanation, especially suitable for beginners and non-Buddhists)
Wednesdays at 8:30 pm – Short teachings on various Buddhist topics
โ
We are typically flexible [with conducting the weekly meditation sessions in English]. All instructors guiding the meditation speak English and the instructions are relatively short and easy. (Worst case scenario is we’d explain it in both languages, which is also no problem at all).โโโ

Sangha walks to connect with each other, ourselves, and the natural world
Sangha Walks
โโ
These nature hikes are open to anyone and everyone — not just meditators. They're organized once a month on weekends (usually Saturdays), within an hour or two of Prague by bus or train.

Each walk runs roughly 10–20 km. Recent trips have explored the Kokoลínsko region and the trail between Karlštejn and Beroun. Dates, locations, and meeting spots flex with the weather and the group. All are welcome — Czech-speakers, English-speakers, anything-speakers.
โ
Details & updates: for upcoming walks, message Scott at +420 774 971 441, or join the Hiking group in the PMC WhatsApp community.

Beyond our own gatherings, the Czech Republic holds a quiet wealth of meditation centers, stupas, temples, and retreat sites. This interactive map — curated by BuddhaWeb.cz — plots them by tradition (Tibetan, Theravada, Zen, and more).
